You know, I have a lot of respect for you, and if this is something you feel strongly about, it makes me want to immediately delete all my social media accounts. I am NOT an attention whore, nor a narcissist. I guess I have a decision to make? =/
I’m not saying that all SM is attention whoring but we participate for a reason. Maybe that reason is ultimately different for you than it is for me. Myself, personally, I don’t manage attention very well and I tend to shy away from it to a degree. I often wonder why I haven’t deleted my Twitter/Tumblr accounts and it always comes back to the fact that I’m deeply vested here. There are people I would miss tragically if I left. But the attention whoring (such extreme words) are what brought me here to begin with but they aren’t the reason for me staying.
